Jazz Fest 2019 Line-Up Released!: Who We’re Excited to See
This year’s New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival is the 50th and the line-up is stellar.
We do still have a few rooms available for the second weekend of this year’s festival. Click here for rates + reservations.
Here’s who we’re really excited to see at the city’s biggest Fest of all:
The Rolling Stones
The rumors have been flying since November and we’re glad to see they’ve proven true!
Dave Matthews Band
The Dave Matthews Band fan cult is alive and well enough to warrant another Jazz Fest appearance by the jammy band.
Kamasi Washington
Kamasi Washington burst into the spotlight after playing tenor saxophone on Kendrick Lamar’s LP to Pimp a Butterfly. Washington released an incredible triple-album called The Epic the same year and is absolutely a slightly less mainstream performer worth seeing this year.
Jimmy Buffet & The Coral Reefer Band
Parrotheads rejoice, for the King of Beach-Appropriate Footwear is coming to Jazz Fest. Also, soon you can retire and live in Margaritaville for the rest of your days.
Sweet Crude
Local Francophone talent delivers a Cajun-tinged sound to the hipster-set. With two drumsets!
Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band
Detroit hit-machine Bob Seger has been at it for six decades. This may be a last opportunity to see him live. Not in an ominous way! Just in a Farewell Tour kinda way.
Al Green
If you haven’t made it to Al Green’s Full Gospel Tabernacle Church to see him on Sunday, you should plan a road-trip to Memphis ASAP. We’re very excited that the Reverend will be playing at Jazz Fest this year.
Boyfriend
Feminist-rapper Boyfriend delivers amazing performances around town in hair-curlers on the regular so we can’t wait to see what she does with a larger stage.
